About this Position

DragonBox is in an exciting transitional moment as we explore deeper integrations of our innovative, learning software into the Web. We're looking for someone with a broad range of practical experience to work across teams and take ownership for the design and implementation of our next generation of web solutions. You should be comfortable working in a collaborative environment, facile with various web technologies and their use cases, and motivated by our mission to deliver the best learning experiences to children.

The position is based in one of the following countries: France, Norway, Poland or Spain and you will report to the Kahoot! DragonBox Lead Commercial Developer based in Oslo, Norway.

Requirements

Your tasks will be as follows:

  • Collaborate with multiple teams and implement features for public-facing websites.
  • Provide the technical leadership and expertise to scale and mature new and existing web properties.
  • Lead the project to replace our current CMS'es, including requirements, design, and build phases.
  • Maintain and develop various websites, from public CMS'es to internal tools, static to dynamic sites, and server to client-rendered code (and everything in-between).
  • Understand and advise on trade-offs to various front-end integration techniques (e.g. iFrames, Web Components, Portal Element).

We are looking for someone who has:

  • 3/5+ years as a Software Developer or equivalent
  • relevant experience with both server and client-rendered web development frameworks.
  • Experience implementing various web design/layout methodologies, for various form factors, and can speak to their tradeoffs.
  • Experience integrating with CDNs.
  • Worked with media and animations on the web.
  • Experience implementing WCAG-compliant designs.
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging Web Standards.
  • Expertise with JavaScript/TypeScript and DOM
  • The ability to work autonomously and prioritize based on the larger needs of the organization. You should be self-motivated, an effective communicator, and enjoy working with people from diverse backgrounds.

Ideally you would also have experience with:

  • One or more CMSes and Information Architecture Concepts
  • Node.js Experience
  • A statically-typed non-JavaScript language
