International Medical Director Are you a medical doctor (MD) with a background of drug development and medical/ research experience preferably within the field of cardiovascular disease? This could be an exciting opportunity for you! We need your analytical skills and research experience to drive novel trial designs and your clinical experience to support ongoing development of innovative treatment options that will make a difference for patients. You thrive in navigating the many interdependencies of clinical drug development evaluating competing priorities and risks while facilitating clear communication and decision-making. The position Successful candidates are dedicated team players who can analyse and communicate data which can be used to design trials, ensure medically sound regulatory interactions as well as to drive learnings one step further into implementation and simple execution. The candidate should have a patient-centric mind-set and actively express a proactive attitude despite challenges. As medical specialist, you will collaborate closely with colleagues across the Novo Nordisk organisation. Although based in the Copenhagen Area, the job is globally oriented and with close interaction with colleagues in regional offices as well as external stakeholders including regulatory bodies, treating physicians and therapeutic experts. We expect you to understand how to establish and maintain these professional relationships. What is more, you will give oral presentations internally, externally and co-author publications. The organisation is dynamic and therefore your responsibilities will change in accordance with the needs of the organisation and to support your further professional development. Qualifications To succeed at this role, you need to have: University degree as a Medical Doctor and have clinical practice experience. Documented research experience such as a PhD and/or clinical development experience. Ideally experience as (co)-investigator in clinical trials or relevant experience with clinical development from the Pharmaceutical or Biotech industry. Preferably experience within cardiovascular area. Additionally, on a personal level you have: Excellent communication skills (proficiency in written and spoken English). Strong coordination/planning and collaborative capabilities with many different stakeholders with diverse professional and cultural backgrounds. Analytical and strategic skills, creativity, curiosity, flexibility, commitment, and ability to prioritise tasks. Ability to thrive in a setting with a high level of complexity and have solid problem-solving capabilities. You should have a flair for building and using both internal and external network(s) and share learnings actively within the project and department. The job requires a high degree of independence and team spirit as many decisions have business impact. Therefore, focus as well as flexibility is important due to several tasks will be coming from different stakeholders and expectation management is key to success. About the department Medical & Science, OSCD and Outcomes is part of Global Development located in Søborg, Copenhagen, Denmark and are driving our expanding portfolio within other serious chronic diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, chronic kidney disease and Alzheimer’s Disease and executing large outcomes trials. We are medically responsible for clinical development programmes and our responsibilities include planning and execution of clinical trials (phase 1-4) and non-interventional studies, medical and scientific support to health authority interactions, publications, presentations and more.
