Head of Global Due Diligence

TransferMate is seeking a Head of Global Due Diligence (“GDD”) who will report to Global Chief Risk & Compliance Officer and who will manage and oversee the overall framework that enables TransferMate to ensure it knows its customer, its partners, its vendors and its employees. The position is a senior member of the Global Compliance team and plays a key role across the global business. The role will oversee several reports located across a number of countries and will be a subject matter expert on projects and governance committees.

Ideally, you should have direct experience in leading the delivery of ongoing program of enhancement to ensure that a regulated business meets its requirements, yet does so in manner that is risk-based, user friendly and using the latest technology in the industry.

Your day will be varied, will be challenging yet rewarding, and your success will be driven by the ability to prioritize matters in a fast-paced environment and drive change across all business departments.

Responsibilities:

• Represent GDD in multiple forums, internally and externally, including senior management discussions and key stakeholder meetings across the business, compliance, and operations
• Work with management team to provide strategic direction and develop all aspects of the GDD control environment (e.g., people, process, technology, and governance) and enhance the end-to-end customer onboarding experience
• Take the lead role in TransferMate’s digital onboarding strategy, working with project managers, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders
• Appropriately assess risk on daily basis and escalate matters when required to Regional Compliance and Senior Management
• Oversee the GDD teams located in Mexico, Bulgaria etc., provide relevant and timely updates to management on efficiency of internal processing of cases, mentoring staff and ensuring best in-class procedures are in place
• Partner with Regional Compliance team, the business and external consultants on interpretation and implementation of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) policies to ensure best in class due diligence controls are in place and can scale
• Develop plans and ongoing GDD training plans to ensure business teams are equipped to onboard new clients in an efficient and effective manner
• Assess and manage changes to the GDD control environment delivered though process, policy and technology change
• Drive continuous improvements to quality of data, control reporting and associated metrics to increase global consistency and to inform workforce planning.

Requirements

• Strong background in Know Your Business / Know Your Customer, preferably in an E-Money Institution
• Strong leadership and ability to drive change across an organization
• Hands-on experience in developing and overseeing a multi-jurisdictional Know Your Business / Know Your Customer program
• Strong knowledge of CDD regulation around the world, or at least in the core markets where TransferMate operates
• Strong verbal and written communicator
• Strong excel and data management skills

• Excellent planning and organization skills, ability to multi-task, plan and prioritize work schedule and work within agreed timescales
• Commercial awareness with ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of wider business factors
• Experience with new systems implementations is also an advantage
