Dragonbox, a Kahoot! Company, is in an exciting moment as we expand the reach of our innovative learning software. We're looking for someone with a broad range of practical experience to work across teams and take ownership for the operational and analytic capabilities of our commercial groups (i.e. Sales, Marketing, etc.). You should be comfortable working in a collaborative environment, able to follow common architectural patterns as you design and implement data services and pipelines, willing to learn how to customize and configure 3rd party systems, and motivated by our mission to deliver the best learning experiences to children.

Note: At the moment, we’re only accepting candidates physically located in a country in which Kahoot! maintains an office (Norway, Poland, Spain, Denmark, France, Finland). Within one of these countries, remote work is fine although there may occasionally be a need to come to the office.

Kahoot DragonBox (https://dragonbox.com/) is the world-renowned pedagogical studio that has earned global fame for its innovative math learning apps for children. In 2012, its first learning game –DragonBox Algebra– became an instant hit. Children, teachers, parents and press hailed it as a radically new way to learn math. Responsibilities:
- Data integration between various 3rd party services and data stores
- Scaling an analytical data tier and its integration to a search/reporting platform
- Designing/Implementing data cleansing processes
- Working with counterparts in Kahoot! data team to align on processes and architecture
- Support and maintenance of an existing web application which manages the ordering/onboarding processes, user authorization, and operational data
- Refactoring existing systems/functionality to a microservices-based architecture
- Developing processes to allow 3rd party systems create orders in our systems
Requirements
We are looking for someone who has:
- Experience with the following technologies:
- Ruby
- Rails
- TypeScript
- Node.js
- Bash or other shell scripting
- GCP
- BigQuery
- Kubernetes
- SQL and NoSQL databases
- Kafka or other messaging queue
- Practical experience in the following domains:
- Data pipelines
- Microservices
- Serverless
- Cloud Native architecture
- API integration
- Data Warehouse and database design/maintenance
- CRM
- The ability to understand and translate user requests into actionable technical requirements
- Ability to work methodically but accommodate priority changes
- 4+ years of experience as a Software Developer
Ideally, you would also have experience with:
- DevOps and Infrastructure as Code (IAC)
- Business Intelligence (BI) tools (including ThoughtSpot)
