Operations Manager

About the opportunity

We are currently looking for an Operations Manager to oversee and develop our Operations in the UK and get our UK Team to the next level. The Ops teams focus on the very core of our business which is responsible for our 10-minute deliveries. This role will provide significant operational knowledge and in-depth knowledge to the local teams to ensure successful performance and excelled customer and client experience in the final mile.

Responsibilities:

• Hire, lead, develop and motivate a team of warehouse managers within the UK, mainly focused in London
• Full responsibility for the operational performance of all warehouses in your sub-region, analysing data around sales, customers, and delivery to make informed decisions on how to drive sales while ensuring customer satisfaction
• Ensure the Gorillas spirit is always up and spread around the warehouses
• Balancing the day-to-day warehouse operations with an analytical mindset to understand how we can grow the market. This means that one day you will work on an analytical framework but the next day you are at the warehouse building up new equipment or helping pack orders because extra pairs of hands are needed
• Support the expansion team in launching new warehouses and help us to increase our coverage across the region
• Be the main point of contact for your sub-region and communicate with many different stakeholders across operations, commercial, legal, marketing, and the country management
• Pursue continuous operational improvements in your sub-region
• Be the spokesperson for all the warehouses in your sub-region

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in a fast-paced environment, as well as relevant experience in leading large teams
• Hands-on mentality and are willing to get your hands dirty
• Know how to fix problems and you always find a way to make them work
• A numbers-driven person and derive insights from data
• A great team player with empathy that has the ability to combine different perspectives
• Good communication skills
• Although not required, experience in retail as a warehouse/store manager, or, an area/regional manager are big plusses
