Welcome to the Embedded Software Development team in FalCom. We are a friendly bunch of engineers, who have the privilege of exploring exciting technologies from concepting to manufacturing. If you would like to get the true R&D experience while also being part of bringing several products to market, this opportunity should be worth exploring for you.

Built on 150 years of innovation – to make life sound better

FalCom is built on GN’s foundation as a global leader in intelligent audio solutions with headquarters in Ballerup. We create advanced hearing protection solutions enabling special operations, military, law enforcement and security personnel to communicate in the most extreme environments – all while providing world-class hearing protection.

Physically, we are located in Ballerup together with the rest of GN.

Your development and future work environment

We are proud of our team spirit and togetherness. Beware that we like to share a laugh. Sometimes it is triggered by simple cartoons or bad jokes like:

“How many software engineers does it take to change a light bulb?

None. That’s a hardware issue”.

But in all seriousness: we love developing excellent features for our customers and we are proud of GN’s tradition of being first movers on features for advanced hearing protection.

Our work environment focuses on innovation and collaboration with our colleagues in Mechanics, hardware and our prototyping colleagues to mention a few. It enables us to keep improving our Design for Manufacturing (DFM)- and Design for Assembly (DFA) processes, which you will also learn about from our engineering team.

We are looking for someone, who enjoys being part of a smaller team within Embedded Software Development. Someone who likes the idea of sharing ideas and collaborating. We believe we have a working environment that offers a lot of opportunities for development while you will focus on the following tasks:

  • Coding in C or C++
  • All phases of embedded Software development from design to production
  • Exploring solutions related to USB, IP and Linux
  • Unit testing
  • Contribute to our SCRUM deliverables
  • Collaborate internally in the team and across different engineering disciplines

“It is in our DNA to challenge the status quo and transform sound experiences as we know them. And as a small independent unit, we are able to test our products with our customers, listen to their needs and execute quickly on our projects. We are still developing as a business unit and establish and secure best practice as we go,”

explains R&D Director, Kenneth Eskling.

Possible qualifications

We are open to a variety of backgrounds, but hope that you bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master's degree related to electronics/embedded software development
  • Knowledge of USB and IP programming
  • Linux knowledge
  • Some experience with embedded software development

What we offer

We believe we offer the benefits of a close collaborating team with high level of trust and flexibility for our coworkers. We are helpful teammates and very open with a clear dedication to making our work life as exciting, pleasant, and motivating as possible.

We care about the atmosphere in the team and work hard to serve our customers.
